Conversion project on Kingdom Housing Association's vacant office building providing two self contained apartments for Social Rent.
The works comprised the conversion of the Association's original main office, and latterly the development team office, into two self contained flats.
The scope of works involved the demolition of the existing meeting room, removal of the existing internal stair and construction of an extension for new stair position serving the upper flat. Internal alterations provided a 2 bed 4 person ground floor flat and a 3 bed 5 person upper flat. As part of the internal works, the intermediate floor structure required upgrading to achieve the necessary fire and sound separation with external walls lined internally to improve their ‘U’ value.
Providing housing for homeless families, the building was restored to residential use and contributed to the local town centre regeneration goals, giving the property a new lease of life.
