Hunter House, Kirkcaldy
Converted Category B listed building to provide 5 self contained flats along with 2 common areas to provide support for tenants. Built on behalf of Kingdom Housing Association.
The scope of works involved internal strip out, separating heating and hot water from the existing wings within the communal plant area, fire and sound separation measures including a sprinkler installation. The building was completely re-plumbed and re-wired.
The alteration work required a number of structural upgrades including roof space steelwork, to support the sprinkler feed tank, and floor strengthening where sagging was evident. The feature spiral stair was refurbished and, externally, roof and chimney repairs were carried out along with façade painting.
